Personal Care
Our goal in providing personal services is to facilitate the highest level of independence possible for each Resident commensurate with the Resident's mental status and physical capabilities. The pre-admission assessment will provide a baseline for determining what degree of assistance, if any, is required. In addition, the Resident's right to self-determination will impact the level and degree of assistance accepted.
Services Included (Not Limited To)
1. Oral hygiene and denture care: daily,
2. Light bathing; as needed,
3. Showers and shampoos; weekly and as requested, or needed,
4. Dressing and undressing; cueing and assistance,
5. Transfer assistance with sitting, standing, positioning, bathing, toileting,
6. Stand-by assistance with locomotion,
7. Bladder/bowel program.
Room & Board
1. Rooms are private or semi-private with the opportunity to retain and use personal possessions, including some furnishings and appropriate clothing as space and personal health permit, unless doing so would infringe upon the rights or health and safety of other Residents.
2. Personal bed or other mobility equipment must have a physician prescription to be accepted in the facility.
3. The house phone is available for free, for local and long distance calls except international calls.
4. Three Nourishing home cooked meals, Snacks and fruits are available as desired.
5. Special-needs diets may be accommodated depending upon the overall acuity of the household.
6. Bedding will be laundered weekly and as needed.
7. Personal laundry will be done as needed.
8. Clothes soiled with human waste will be laundered and disinfected separately from other clothing.
9. All clothing needs to be labeled with Resident's name or initials in indelible ink.

Why Choose a Small Group Home?
Our two facilities house 6 beds each, both private and semi-private rooms. The ratio of care is 2 caregivers for 6 residents during the day and 1 during the night. We provide an individualized plan of care designed to fit each individual's stage in life. Some of the most common diagnosis are Alzheimer, Dementia, Stroke, COPD, Diabetes, Ambulatory or Wheelchair. We provide diverse activities, nutritious home cooked meals, all this in a family home environment.
Home is the most comfortable place where a person can be, when one can’t take care of his/her daily needs due to debility, or inability of the mind to function properly. Home style assisted living is the next best choice. Some who plan ahead are willing to leave their comfortable homes and get used to an assisted living environment while they are still able to adjust and enjoy the change.
Be aware that “absentee operators” who own numerous small facilities, they may have a business mind, but without the heart of a caregiver. These facilities can skimp in every operation ranging from food, maintenance, or round the clock staff. In contrast, at Daniela’s Serenity Care our highly trained 24 hour staff is vigilant of any sign of skin deterioration and it is addressed without delay. Any change of behavior of health is immediately reported to the resident’s doctor or family members. We believe in daily structured scheduling for our residents, by the same familiar people and the same familiar methods.

I have been a resident here for 2 years. I came with swollen legs, bruises, some memory loss and a walker. I have improved about 300%. I now run, yes run, no walker, no extra weight, no bruises. I am luck as I can walk, talk and do everything for myself except showers (safety purposes). Our cousin Krys Irvin has resided at Daniela Serenity-Foster Care for several years and it is unbelievable the progress she has made since she first arrived. We visited the facility several years ago and couldn't believe the feeling of home it gave to us. My friend Krys, came to this place about 2 years ago. She was very I'll and her daughter ,family and friends were very concerned. BUT the folks here a Daniela Serenity took cage and Krys is 300 percent better. She has regular meals, which she tells me are nutritious and delicious, regular medications , which are delivered to her, and daily physio therapy. From using a walker,and not very well when she arrived, she is now out pacing me. When we visited the home, we found it extremely clean and welcoming. We met the staff and found them very loving towards their clients. Each person was treated with respect and dignity unlike other places that she was in. The change in Krys is remarkable. She is tidy, well treated, getting regular medications, and has a lovely room to herself. She is part of the Daniela Serenity family. She even was able to visit me in Canada!

Words do not even begin to describe what a loving home my grandmother lived in. I was extremely sadden when we needed to separate my grandparents after 65 years of marriage, but when I visited Daniela’s, all of my worries disappeared. This home is the most loving, nurturing, beautiful place ran by a pure angel. Daniela and all of her staff not only cared for my grandmother but they truly love her. The home is extremely warm and inviting. All of the care givers take care of each resident with the utmost respect and love. What a lucky break it was that Krys's daughter persisted and found such a great place for Krys to live and thrive. She has done a complete turnaround since she first went there. The beautiful property allows her to get outside on her own and enjoy walking around or just sitting and taking in the fresh air. THIS HOME FELT WARM , WELCOMING, COZY , WAS IMMACULATELY CLEAN AND FILLED WITH LOVE AND COMPASSION. THE INDIVIDUALIZED ATTENTION TO NEEDS ,NURTURING AND CARE EACH RESIDENT RECEIVED ON THE DAILY BASIS TRULY CAME FROM EVERYONE OF THE CAREGIVERS HEART. MY MOTHER,FATHER, SIBLINGS AND MYSELF WITNESSED THIS EVERY DAY. WE HAD TO FIND A PLACE FOR MY MOTHER DUE TO HER ALZHEIMER'S. THIS WAS A DIFFICULT DECISION BUT MY FATHER HAS FINDING IT MORE DIFFICULT TO TAKE CARE OF MOM. FINDING DANIELA AND HER STAFF WAS A GIFT FROM HEAVEN. I NEVER WORRIED ABOUT MOM FOR A SINGLE MINUTE EVEN WHEN I WENT ON A 2 WEEK VACATION. MOM WAS IN THE BEST OF HANDS A HOME FILLED WITH ANGELS. MY MOTHER RECENTLY TOOK A VERY SUDDEN TURN FOR THE WORST AND THE ENTIRE TIME DANIELA AND HER STAFF STAYED WITH MY MOTHER ,COMFORTED HER , HELD HER HAND , PRAYED WITH US,CRIED WITH US AND GAVE HER LOVE TO THE VERY END. I may have sound like a broken record praising this place for outstanding care given to me, I have been here since 2017, came in with walker assistance and not in the best medical situation. The other day I receive a great news from my doctor for the first time since I have been sic my protein and sodium levels are normal, and my kidney function is normal. All this is thanks to the excellent care the owners and their dedicated stuff give us. The other day I actually waled 10.6 mile in one day. My daughter never worries again about me. I am often asked if I thought of going on my own, ABSOLUTELY NO. I don't have to worry about shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, medication taken on time and correct dosage. When you find what I call perfection why leave it. I finally enjoy life to the fullest. This place is amazing if you ever are given an opportunity to place your loved and can do it!!!!

My mom who was completely independent living in northern Michigan fell and hit her head on concrete. She obtained a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and it is thought that she also had a stroke at the same time. So my mother’s situation was very complicated. Between memory loss, physical inability to care for herself or walk, and behavior issues that are common with her situation. She required very individualized attention and care. Well as you can imagine over the last 2.5 years since she has fallen. She has been in and out of hospitals, rehabs, and nursing homes. None of them knew how to provide the care and attention she needed. Until she was lucky enough to go to Daniela's Serenity Care group home. I am a health care professional and have been working in long term care for 33 years. I can tell you both personally and professionally that they provide the best care around. The staff is so very kind, loving, and patient. The home itself is beautiful and always clean and spotless. So when COVID 19 hit and my mom took a turn for the worse and the end was near. Daniela and her husband Dan built a private room away from the other residents in record time so we could be with our mother during her dying process. Consequently my sister, her husband and I were able to be there along with Daniela when my mother passed away. I cannot thank them enough for the love, care, compassion and understanding that they extended to all of us. I give Daniela Serenity Care the highest rate, two thumbs up, 12 out of 10 stars. They are the best. And if you are lucky enough to be able to get your loved one admitted to Daniela Serenity Care. Then do not hesitate! And count your blessings as I do.
